Housing registration in the city hall of Mainz here. German students don’t need to register if the stay is max. 6 months.
In Germany, you need to pay television and radio fees . You’ll get a letter with request to pay soon after you moved in.
Deposit: 2x monthly rent. Rent is taken off your bank account. Therefore, you need to sign the ‚SEPA-Lastschriftmandat‘. The rent is taken at the beginning of each month. WIFI: you need your own router. Usually, ppl who move out will sell
their router for 10€. This website describes how to set up the router by using your university account.

– to find additional voluntary courses and register for them (ONLY for registration for additional courses, like language courses!! The study coordinators will register you for your obligatory courses)

Moodle for language classes and additional classes
You can register for any language course on Jogustine (→ offered from the ISSK). It’ll be written in your transcript
of record as additional extra credit points.
There were 2 written exams at the end of the semester (Neurology and Immunology). These are the only grades
you’ll get for the third semester. The rest is either pass/fail and is evaluated via attendance and/or submission of the assignment. Additionally, you have to write 2 reports for the internships at the end of the semester.

Quite easy to find second-hand bikes on Facebook groups (Note: Mainz in the last year has improved as a biking city, with expanded bike lanes.)
